Trying to keep pack weight low, but I do not want to miss the one thing that matters. Notes mention: sun hoodie and bigger water carry were non-negotiable.. Route is Chisos Basin entry with East Rim side mileage.

Sun hoodie and bigger water carry were non-negotiable. is a good call. The “glad I packed it” items are usually the ones that keep you moving when conditions are annoying.
My rule: keep one warm layer, one nav backup, and enough water capacity to handle a slow exit.
