Water carry advice for Grand Canyon Rim to River: 2L enough?
Asked Feb 1217 views1 answer
I am comfortable with food and pacing, but still unsure about water. Notes mention we treated every water stop as optional and stayed over-prepared. and I do not want to overpack or run short on Bright Angel down to river camps with a South Kaibab exit. Group size is 4.

Plan your carry around the longest dry stretch, not the average. If you are unsure, start with 2L and refill early at the first reliable source.
If the day is hotter or slower than expected, you will be glad you carried the extra liter.
