Any gear you were glad you carried on Grand Canyon Rim to River?

A light puffy was enough for dawn starts on the rim. is a good call. The “glad I packed it” items are usually the ones that keep you moving when conditions are annoying.

My rule: keep one warm layer, one nav backup, and enough water capacity to handle a slow exit.
