White Rim w/ the pup.
We went Shafer switchbacks into classic White Rim viewpoints starting at 6:00 AM. Dry air kept visibility sharp for most of the route. Road surface was hardpack w/ a few washboard sections.
The boring prep stuff matters.
Tips
- Test new gear before the trip.
- Gaiters for scree.
- Backup headlamp batteries.
