Wildflowers were peaking on White Rim.
We went Shafer switchbacks into classic White Rim viewpoints starting at 5:10 AM. Dry air kept visibility sharp for most of the route. Road surface was hardpack with a few washboard sections.
Wildlife/nature notes: Wildlife stayed far away from the main road corridor.
Bottom line: Be friendly at the trailhead.
