Gear that made the difference on White Rim: We went White Rim day segment from the Island in the Sky side starting at 6:00 AM. Sun was strong in exposed stretches by late morning. Traction stayed good, but dust built up after each vehicle group. Gear that worked: GPS, Watch w/ altimeter. A simple dust layer and eye protection made a big difference. Short version: Tape hot spots before they blister. Already planning the next one.
