Same permit day, two route ideas. Option A is Main Wave route with extra time for return navigation. Option B is Classic out-and-back from Wire Pass before heat builds. Current trail notes say: route markers lined up well, still worth checking maps often.. Any reason to favor one?

Pick the route that matches your weakest link, not your best day. If footing is the main risk, lean toward the option with simpler navigation and cleaner tread.
