Animal encounters made The Subway special.
We went Left Fork trailhead to the lower Subway section starting at 5:35 AM. Cloud cover held until late morning and kept the slickrock from baking. Route finding was straightforward if we stayed on cairns and creek turns.
Wildlife/nature notes: No major wildlife encounters, just tracks in wet sand.
Preparation is everything.
