Light conditions on The Wave:
We went Wire Pass route with waypoint checks at major slickrock turns starting at 6:25 AM. Clear sky made timing simple and kept visibility high. Sand sections were soft but easy to follow with track lines.
Midday light was harsh but the shadows added drama.
Short version: Study the route at home.
