Gear that made the difference on The Subway:
We went Out-and-back through Left Fork from Wildcat Canyon side starting at 5:10 AM. Cool morning air helped us move fast before the canyon warmed up. Rock steps were stable, w/ a few muddy pockets by the creek.
Gear that worked: Headlamp, Gaiters, Approach shoes.
Neoprene socks and poles were the most useful items for this one.
Do your homework first.
