The Subway at dusk hits different. We went Left Fork approach with a quick weather check at dawn starting at 6:00 AM. Cloud cover held until late morning and kept the slickrock from baking. Footing was solid on the dry benches and a little slick near water lines. Light was best in the first two hours. Ratings: 5 overall, 5 difficulty, 4 scenery. Bottom line: Extra socks change everything. Days like this are why I hike.
