I have been coming here for years. The Subway update. We went Left Fork approach with a quick weather check at dawn starting at 4:45 AM. Cool morning air helped us move fast before the canyon warmed up. Route finding was straightforward if we stayed on cairns and creek turns. Ratings: 5 overall, 5 difficulty, 4 scenery. Plan accordingly. Quick notes: - Tape hot spots before they blister. - Gaiters for scree. - Sunglasses are not optional. - Download your map before you lose service. - Poles help more than you think.
