So here is the thing about White Rim... We went Shafer switchbacks into classic White Rim viewpoints starting at 4:45 AM. Dry air kept visibility sharp for most of the route. Most of the route was in stable shape with minor rough patches. Quick scores: overall=5, difficulty=3, views=5 Miles are earned, not given. Quick notes: - Bring the rain layer even if clear. - Gaiters for scree. - Do not trust parking to work out. - Slow down on muddy sections.
