Here is what worked (and what did not) on White Rim.
We went Shafer start w/ a clockwise White Rim line starting at 5:35 AM. Dry air kept visibility sharp for most of the route. Road surface was hardpack w/ a few washboard sections.
Gear that worked: Base layer, Wide-brim hat, Wind shell, Filter.
Recovery kit stayed unused, but we were glad to have it.
TLDR: Extra socks change everything.
Plan accordingly.
