Here is what worked (and what did not) on the wave.
We went wire pass route w/ waypoint checks at major slickrock turns starting at 4:45 am. Wind stayed mild and made exposed sections feel easier. Slickrock footing was solid where it stayed dry.
Gear that worked: gaiters, approach shoes, crampons.
Light gaiters helped keep sand out during the hike out.
