The Subway: blunt notes
Do not overthink it, but do not wing the basics either.
Route: Out-and-back through Left Fork from Wildcat Canyon side. Start: 4:45 AM. Crowds: light.
Weather and trail: Cloud cover held until late morning and kept the slickrock from baking. Rock steps were stable, with a few muddy pockets by the creek.
Water: Creek flow was moderate and easy to cross with poles.
Best advice: Take photos of the permit and save them offline.
