Logistics for The Subway
We started around 6:25 AM and the early start made the whole day easier.
Route we took: Left Fork approach with a quick weather check at dawn.
Permit check was low drama. Screenshot + ID and we were on our way.
Conditions were straightforward: Cloud cover held until late morning and kept the slickrock from baking. Footing was solid on the dry benches and a little slick near water lines. Creek flow was moderate and easy to cross with poles.
Overall it was a smooth day.
If you want less stress: Pack a dry layer even if the forecast looks perfect.
