The light on Grand Canyon that morning was something else.
We took North Kaibab to inner canyon camp with a next-day climb out with 2 people. Started around 6:50 AM when wind on exposed ridges eased after sunrise and made pacing simple. The trail stone steps were dry by mid-morning but still rough on knees. We treated every water stop as optional and stayed over-prepared.
