Animal encounters made Grand Canyon Rim to River special.
We went Bright Angel down to river camps w/ a South Kaibab exit starting at 5:10 AM. Rim started cold and the canyon floor warmed up by late morning. Upper switchbacks held some icy patches before sun hit them.
Wildlife/nature notes: Saw ravens and mule deer, no close calls w/ wildlife.
Overall 5/5. Difficulty 3/5. Scenery 4/5.
Short version: Break in boots at home.
Days like this are why I hike.
