Here is what worked (and what did not) on Grand Canyon Rim to River. We went South Kaibab descent w/ one night at Bright Angel area starting at 6:50 AM. Rim started cold and the canyon floor warmed up by late morning. Stone steps were dry by mid-morning but still rough on knees. Gear that worked: Bladder, InReach, Paper map, Tablets. Traction and poles were useful for the first shaded switchbacks. Bottom line: First aid kit is mandatory. Some trips stay w/ you.
