Sub-10lb kit on Grand Canyon Rim to River. We went North Kaibab to inner canyon camp with a next-day climb out starting at 6:00 AM. Clear skies gave us big temperature swings between rim and river. Stone steps were dry by mid-morning but still rough on knees. Gear that worked: Electrolytes, Gaiters, Paper map, Approach shoes. Sun shirt and electrolyte packets carried the second half of the day. Overall 4/5. Difficulty 4/5. Scenery 5/5. Bottom line: Trust the cairns. Check conditions before you go.
