Animal encounters made The Subway special.
We went Left Fork approach w/ a quick weather check at dawn starting at 4:45 AM. Wind stayed light, which made the river sections easier to handle. Footing was solid on the dry benches and a little slick near water lines.
Wildlife/nature notes: Saw mule deer on the drive in, nothing aggressive on trail.
Overall 5/5. Difficulty 4/5. Scenery 4/5.
Grateful for this one.
