Out the door at 6:00 AM. Grand Canyon Rim to River sunrise session. We went Bright Angel down to river camps w/ a South Kaibab exit starting at 6:00 AM. Wind on exposed ridges eased after sunrise and made pacing simple upper switchbacks held some icy patches before sun hit them. Light was best in the first two hrs. Quick scores: overall=5, difficulty=5, views=4 Check conditions before you go. Tips - Move over for faster hikers. - Break in boots at home. - Wave at other hikers.
