So here is the thing about Grand Canyon Rim to River...
We went Bright Angel down to river camps with a South Kaibab exit starting at 4:45 AM. Clear skies gave us big temperature swings between rim and river. Upper switchbacks held some icy patches before sun hit them.
Worth every bit of effort.
