Grand Canyon Rim to River: no sugarcoating. We went Bright Angel down to river camps with a South Kaibab exit starting at 6:00 AM. Wind on exposed ridges eased after sunrise and made pacing simple. Upper switchbacks held some icy patches before sun hit them. Overall 4/5. Difficulty 4/5. Scenery 4/5. Check conditions before you go. Quick notes: - Keep music in your ears only. - Carry a small trash bag. - Download your map before you lose service.
