Wildflowers were peaking on Grand Canyon Rim to River.
We went Bright Angel down to river camps with a South Kaibab exit starting at 5:10 AM. Wind on exposed ridges eased after sunrise and made pacing simple. Main corridor tread was firm and easy to follow all day.
Wildlife/nature notes: Spotted bighorn sheep on lower sections near the river.
Overall 5/5. Difficulty 5/5. Scenery 5/5.
Short version: Know the signs of altitude.
