Four-legged companion on Grand Canyon Rim to River.
We went South Kaibab descent w/ one night at Bright Angel area starting at 4:45 AM. Wind on exposed ridges eased after sunrise and made pacing simple. Upper switchbacks held some icy patches before sun hit them.
Overall 5/5. Difficulty 5/5. Scenery 5/5.
Bottom line: Poles help more than you think.
Take what is useful.
