Base weight check before Grand Canyon Rim to River: We went South Kaibab descent with one night at Bright Angel area starting at 6:50 AM. Rim started cold and the canyon floor warmed up by late morning. Main corridor tread was firm and easy to follow all day. Gear that worked: Watch with altimeter, Compass, Bladder. Traction and poles were useful for the first shaded switchbacks. TLDR: Gaiters for scree. Already planning the next one.
