Logistics for The Subway
We started around 6:50 AM and the early start made the whole day easier.
Route we took: Out-and-back through Left Fork from Wildcat Canyon side.
No surprises on the permit side, just do not count on cell service.
Conditions were straightforward: Cloud cover held until late morning and kept the slickrock from baking. Footing was solid on the dry benches and a little slick near water lines. Water depth changed by section but never forced a full stop.
Nothing surprising, in a good way.
If you want less stress: Pack a dry layer even if the forecast looks perfect.
Ratings (1-5): overall 4, difficulty 4, scenery 4, conditions 5.
