The Wave field notes - Crowds: light. - Crew: 2 people. - Start: 5:10 AM. - Route: Wire Pass route with waypoint checks at major slickrock turns. - Weather: Wind stayed mild and made exposed sections feel easier. - Trail: Slickrock footing was solid where it stayed dry. - Water: No refill options at all, which drove our turnaround time. - Wildlife: Only saw small reptiles near warm rock faces. - Gear that helped: Trekking poles, Offline map downloaded, Dry bag TLDR: start early, keep water simple, and do not wing the map.
