Went minimal on the wave. Here is what made the cut.
We went wire pass route with waypoint checks at major slickrock turns starting at 6:50 am clear sky made timing simple and kept visibility high. Route markers lined up well, still worth checking maps often.
Gear that worked: sun hoodie, wind shell, gloves, approach shoes.
Offline maps and spare battery removed a lot of stress.
Do your homework first.
Quick notes:
- share beta when asked.
- keep music in your ears only.
- know where water is.
- wave at other hikers.
