Logistics for The Subway We started around 5:10 AM and the early start made the whole day easier. Route we took: Out-and-back through Left Fork from Wildcat Canyon side. Permit check: had it pulled up before we hit the busy spots. Conditions were straightforward: Cloud cover held until late morning and kept the slickrock from baking. Footing was solid on the dry benches and a little slick near water lines. Water depth changed by section but never forced a full stop. We were moving well and the views kept getting better. If you want less stress: Download your map before you lose service. Ratings (1-5): overall 4, difficulty 5, scenery 4, conditions 3.
