I have been coming here for years. Big Bend Backcountry update.
We went Dodson and Blue Creek combo with a one-night camp starting at 5:35 AM. Cool morning temps made long exposed miles feel manageable. Tread was dry and clear with a few loose rock corners.
TLDR: Know where water is.
Do your homework first.
