Microclimate notes from Big Bend Backcountry. We went Outer Mountain Loop sections from the Chisos side starting at 5:35 AM. Dry air and steady sun meant layers changed fast after sunrise. Tread was dry and clear w/ a few loose rock corners. Days like this are why I hike.
