Kit breakdown from Big Bend Backcountry:
We went Dodson and Blue Creek combo w/ a one-night camp starting at 6:50 AM. Cool morning temps made long exposed miles feel manageable. Route stayed obvious, w/ minor wash marks in low spots.
Gear that worked: Gaiters, First aid, Trail runners, Lighter.
A simple buff pulled double duty for dust and sun.
Do your homework first.
