Out the door at 5:35 AM. Big Bend Backcountry sunrise session.
We went Chisos Basin entry w/ East Rim side mileage starting at 5:35 AM. Wind on ridges was steady but never pushed us off pace. Tread was dry and clear w/ a few loose rock corners.
Midday light was harsh but the shadows added drama.
Overall 4/5. Difficulty 5/5. Scenery 5/5.
The kind of day that resets perspective.
