The alarm went off at 6:50 AM and I was already awake. We took Dodson and Blue Creek combo with a one-night camp with group of 6. Started around 6:50 AM when dry air and steady sun meant layers changed fast after sunrise. The trail no major blowdown, just loose gravel in steep sections. We treated every known source as uncertain and carried extra. Bottom line: Mark key waypoints. Would do again in a heartbeat.
