Fauna notes from Big Bend Backcountry. We went Outer Mountain Loop sections from the Chisos side starting at 5:10 AM. Wind on ridges was steady but never pushed us off pace. Route stayed obvious, w/ minor wash marks in low spots. Wildlife/nature notes: Tracks were everywhere, but no close wildlife encounters. Short version: Check weather the morning of. The kind of day that resets perspective.
