Area knowledge dump for Big Bend Backcountry.
We went Chisos Basin entry with East Rim side mileage starting at 6:25 AM. Wind on ridges was steady but never pushed us off pace. Route stayed obvious, with minor wash marks in low spots.
Ratings: 5 overall, 4 difficulty, 5 scenery.
TLDR: Test new gear before the trip.
Worth every bit of effort.
