Microclimate notes from Big Bend Backcountry. We went Outer Mountain Loop sections from the Chisos side starting at 5:35 AM. Cool morning temps made long exposed miles feel manageable. Tread was dry and clear w/ a few loose rock corners. Bottom line: Start earlier than you think. Hope this helps.
