Straight talk about Big Bend Backcountry.
We went Dodson and Blue Creek combo with a one-night camp starting at 4:45 AM. Dry air and steady sun meant layers changed fast after sunrise. Tread was dry and clear with a few loose rock corners.
Grateful for this one.
Quick notes:
- Gaiters for scree.
- Extra socks change everything.
- Backup headlamp batteries...
