Went minimal on Big Bend Backcountry. Here is what made the cut.
We went Dodson and Blue Creek combo with a one-night camp starting at 6:00 AM. Dry air and steady sun meant layers changed fast after sunrise. Tread was dry and clear with a few loose rock corners.
Gear that worked: Puffy, Buff.
Sun hoodie and bigger water carry were non-negotiable.
Days like this are why I hike.
