Animal encounters made Big Bend Backcountry special.
We went Chisos Basin entry w/ East Rim side mileage starting at 6:25 AM. Dry air and steady sun meant layers changed fast after sunrise. Route stayed obvious, w/ minor wash marks in low spots.
Wildlife/nature notes: Bird activity near camp was high around sunrise.
Worth every bit of effort.
