Animal encounters made Big Bend Backcountry special.
We went Dodson and Blue Creek combo w/ a one-night camp starting at 4:45 AM. Wind on ridges was steady but never pushed us off pace. Tread was dry and clear w/ a few loose rock corners.
Wildlife/nature notes: Saw javelina near trailhead and small lizards on warm rock.
Grateful for this one.
