Kit breakdown from Big Bend Backcountry:
We went Dodson and Blue Creek combo w/ a one-night camp starting at 6:25 AM. Wind on ridges was steady but never pushed us off pace route stayed obvious, w/ minor wash marks in low spots.
Gear that worked: Trekking poles, Lip balm, Base layer, Sunscreen.
Sun hoodie and bigger water carry were non-negotiable.
Overall 4/5. Difficulty 3/5. Scenery 5/5.
Take what is useful.
