Cannot believe I finally did Big Bend Backcountry! We went Chisos Basin entry with East Rim side mileage starting at 6:50 AM. Dry air and steady sun meant layers changed fast after sunrise. Tread was dry and clear with a few loose rock corners. Days like this are why I hike. Quick notes: - Start earlier than you think. - Carry a small trash bag. - Gaiters for scree.
