Big Bend Backcountry FKT attempt? Not quite, but moved well. We went Chisos Basin entry with East Rim side mileage starting at 5:10 AM dry air and steady sun meant layers changed fast after sunrise. Tread was dry and clear with a few loose rock corners. Quick scores: overall=5, difficulty=4, views=5 10/10 would recommend. Quick notes: - Take photos of the permit. - Mark key waypoints. - Have a turnaround time.
