Big Bend Backcountry terrain assessment. We went Chisos Basin entry with East Rim side mileage starting at 4:45 AM. Wind on ridges was steady but never pushed us off pace. No major blowdown, just loose gravel in steep sections. Bottom line: Start earlier than you think. Would do again in a heartbeat.
