Big Bend Backcountry with the kids. We went Chisos Basin entry with East Rim side mileage starting at 4:45 AM. Dry air and steady sun meant layers changed fast after sunrise. No major blowdown, just loose gravel in steep sections. Ratings: 5 overall, 5 difficulty, 4 scenery. TLDR: Turnaround time is not negotiable. The kind of day that resets perspective.
