Big Bend Backcountry field notes from 2026-03-09. Route: Dodson and Blue Creek combo w/ a one-night camp. Weather: Wind on ridges was steady but never pushed us off pace.. Trail: Tread was dry and clear w/ a few loose rock corners.. Water: Cache strategy helped us keep pack weight under control.. Crowds: moderate. 10/10 would recommend.
